Kievskaya Ploshchad Group of Companies receives the “Moscow Restoration 2019” award

5 December 2019

The restoration of the architectural ensemble of the Miussky Tram Depot, which is part of the asset portfolio of the Kievskaya Ploshchad Group of Companies, has been recognised as the best restoration/adaptation for modern use project. The award was presented to the Director General of Depo Lesnaya Alexander Rafailov by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on behalf of the Moscow Government.

On 5 December, the results of the Moscow Government’s annual Moscow Restoration 2019 competition were announced. The jury awarded prizes to winners who had worked to preserve cultural heritage sites. The ceremony took place in the White Room of the Capital City Hall.

The architectural ensemble of the Miussky Tram Depot, restored by the Kievskaya Ploshchad Group of Companies, won the prize for preserving the urban environment based on the results of its repair and restoration work. In the spring of 2019, the buildings of the Miussky Depot opened as the "Depo Lesnaya" food quarter.

Sergey Sobyanin thanked all the participants who worked to restore the monuments, and noted that preservation of cultural heritage in the capital is progressing rapidly thanks to the restorers, builders and owners of the capital’s cultural heritage sites.

God Nisanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kievskaya Ploshchad Group of Companies:

"The main task of the restoration was to preserve the original appearance and adapt the building to the life of a modern metropolis. Today, the Miussky Depot does not just bring together the past and present of the capital. This is a new iconic place on the map of Moscow whose opening marks the beginning of a new page in the history of gastronomy and the restaurant industry in Russia. The unique scale of the project, the variety of choice of food and the formats for its sale and presentation will satisfy any gastronomic requirement, even the most refined, while keeping in tune with the rhythm of a big city."
