Kievskaya ploshchad carries out a range of charity activities

27 December 2019

The Kievskaya Ploshchad Group organised a charity campaign timed to coincide with the New Year celebrations. Events were held in the Food City agrocluster, Hotel Ukraine, Evropeiskiy shopping and entertainment centre and the Depo.Moskva food mall.

Lonely pensioners receiving home care and elderly residents of the Nikolo-Khovanskoe village received gifts of food parcels from FOOD CITY.

This is the second time a joint charity event has been held by the FOOD CITY wholesale and retail food centre and the social service centre with the support of the Sosenskaya Settlement Administration. But on New Year's Day, pensioners from the district received food parcels for the first time, as the organisers handed them out together with Santa Claus.

According to the long-standing tradition, the historical Hotel Ukraine (Radisson Collection Hotel, Moscow) sent its best festive wishes to its nearest neighbours - residents of the "wings" of the legendary high-rise building who are veterans and belong to a low-mobility group of pensioners or those in need of social support. The hotel's residents presented New Year's gifts to the building’s residents and, on behalf of the staff and administration, passed on best wishes for health and long life.

Charitable assistance (food parcels) from the Evropeiskiy shopping and entertainment centre was also received by individuals who took part in and became disabled during the Second World War,  former juvenile prisoners of fascism and survivors of the siege of Leningrad, labour veterans, pensioners, poor and large families, as well as children with disabilities living in houses near the shopping centre.

In Europe's largest food mall, Depo.Moskva, a master class was held for residents of the orphanage "Schastye darits schastye". The event was organised in conjunction with the National Resources charitable foundation as part of the Letter to Santa Claus campaign.

A special programme for young guests began with a small tour of the food mall, where the run-up to the New Year holidays saw a unique festive atmosphere. Then, under the guidance of the chef of the "Ojahuri" and "Tsomi" stalls, the young guests created one of the most popular dishes in Georgian cuisine - khinkali, which were subsequently cooked and served on the table to the novice cooks.

The purpose of such charitable actions is to give attention and support to those who need it on the eve of the greatest holiday of the year. In addition to the signs of attention timed to coincide with the festive dates, Kievskaya Ploshchad holds regular charity events providing support to socially vulnerable segments of the population.

God Nisanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kievskaya Ploshchad Group, comments:

"To benefit others and help people is an important part of the activities of the Kievskaya Ploshchad Group of Companies. Our projects and activities are not limited just to commercial interests. In the run-up to the New Year, it is especially important that people take responsibility for each other."
